The ongoing legal drama between Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez has taken another sharp turn.
According to TMZ, Megan’s legal team recently filed a motion requesting the court to hold Tory Lanez in contempt following his conduct during a deposition connected to Meg’s civil lawsuit against blogger Milagro Cooper. Lanez, who is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for shooting Megan in 2020, reportedly acted in an “inflammatory and disruptive” manner throughout the deposition.
Meg’s attorneys allege Lanez mocked the appearance of one of her lawyers, calling her hair dye “distracting,” and sarcastically suggested she “bring a hairbrush” next time. They also claimed Lanez pretended not to understand basic legal terms like “discuss” and “approve,” further delaying the legal proceedings.
The deposition is part of a larger civil case in which Megan is suing Cooper for defamation. She claims Cooper posted false statements and deepfake pornographic videos about her at the alleged direction of Lanez (real name Daystar Peterson). As evidence, Megan’s team submitted records showing Lanez’s father allegedly paid Cooper $3,000 for her online smear campaign.
In a notable twist, Lanez's former criminal defense attorneys distanced themselves from the civil case, saying they would not oppose the contempt motion and are not representing him in this matter.
Despite being under a court order to stay 100 yards away from Megan and to avoid any form of harassment or intimidation, Lanez's alleged behavior during the deposition could now land him in deeper legal trouble.
As of this posting, Lanez has not publicly addressed the contempt allegations.
