Offset is under financial pressure as he navigates his divorce from Cardi B. The rapper has been hit with significant tax liens totaling nearly $2 million.
Tax Troubles
According to reports, the Georgia Department of Revenue filed a lien in March claiming Offset owes $294,712 in state taxes from 2021. This amount includes penalties and interest on an original bill of $167,916. Additionally, in April 2024, the IRS issued a federal tax lien for $1,572,266, also tied to 2021. Combined, Offset's unpaid taxes amount to approximately $1.87 million.
Divorce Proceedings
Amid these financial issues, Offset has filed for spousal support from Cardi B. He is also seeking joint custody of their three children, with Cardi's home designated as their primary residence. The couple announced their split in August 2024, citing a disconnect in their relationship. While initially described as amicable, both parties have since accused each other of infidelity.
Additional Legal Challenges
Offset's legal troubles extend beyond tax issues. He faces a lawsuit from two men who claim he assaulted them in a 2020 strip club incident. A default judgment awarded the plaintiffs $232,000, adding to Offset's financial burdens. He is currently attempting to have this ruling overturned.
As the divorce proceedings continue, both Offset and Cardi B are dealing with complex legal and financial challenges.
